(Aurora, IN) - A series of crashes on U.S. 50 in Aurora on Monday morning had rescue crews from Aurora and Dearborn County on the scene - and a deer may be partly to blame.
Just before 7:00 a.m., a car was involved in a collision with a large deer in the highway's eastbound lanes near Dutch Hollow Road according to Dearborn County police dispatchers. One person suffered unknown injuries.
That accident slowed traffic on U.S. 50 and may have led to a second collision between two more vehicles nearby around 7:20. Dispatchers said at least one ambulance was being sent to that crash.
Commuters reported they were able to get by the accident scene without taking a detour as the right-hand lane of 50 remained open.
