The Indiana Broadcasters Association held their annual Spectrum Awards last Saturday in Indianapolis.
Eagle 99.3 was awarded for Best Sportscast among all small market radio stations in Indiana for the Eagle 99.3 High School Sports Hour. The hour-long show is hosted by Rob Moorhead and Chuck Thomas and features players and coaches from around the tri-state. It airs most Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. during the high school sports season.
“We’re very proud of this award and it’s a reflection of the work the entire staff puts in,” said Eagle 99.3 sports director and announcer Mike Perleberg. “Announcers, management, sales staff and even the coaches and athletes we cover help make our sportscasts stand out.”
Eagle 99.3 was also nominated in small market categories for Best Newscast and Best Cross-Platform Use of Radio for its website, www.eaglecountryonline.com. A nomination means Eagle 99.3 was top three in the state among dozens of other small market stations.
It’s become a regular occurrence for southeast Indiana’s top-rated radio station to win recognition among its broadcasting peers. Eagle 99.3 earned Spectrum awards in 2008 and 2009 for news and sports coverage as well.
“This station is blessed to cover an area that cares so much about its news and sports. The least we can do is present it to our listeners in award-worthy fashion,” Perleberg said.
