Roger L. Grammer II
Ripley County Jail
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A former local police officer is facing new charges.
Roger L. Grammer II was charged Nov. 4 with Official Misconduct, Bribery, Battery, and Interference with Reporting a Crime for an incident earlier this year.
On June 10, Grammer allegedly had a verbal altercation with a woman which escalated to a physical confrontation in the parking lot of Manchester Elementary School in Dearborn County.
Grammer twisted the woman’s arm and the struggle led to the woman hitting her head on the ground according to a court affidavit.
Investigating officers listened to the 911 call made by the woman using her cell phone. In it they heard Grammer offer the woman $100 to not report the battery to police.
Grammer was initially arrested for the altercation on one count of Battery on June 10. The arrest led to Grammer resigning as an officer with the Aurora Police Department.
Grammer appeared in Dearborn County court Friday morning for his initial hearing on the new charges.
