(Versailles, Ind.) - Volunteers will gather this weekend in Versailles to help make it a brighter Christmas.
Joe Day used to set up a massive light display at his home at the intersection of U.S. 50 and U.S. 421, also known as the “Y.”
For the first time in decades Day was unable to erect the light display in 2009 as he battled cancer. That’s when Osgood resident Bill McDonald stepped in an organized a community effort to get the display glowing again.
Again this year, McDonald is leading the charge to get the “Y” lights – now called the Joe Day Memorial Christmas Lights Display - up in time for Thanksgiving.
Volunteers are asked to meet Friday, Nov. 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Day’s home and again on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
