Jason Q. Daugherty will do 15 years in prison Ripley Circuit Court Judge Carl Taul ordered Monday during sentencing the Osgood Journal reports.

He had faced a maximum of 20 years and a minimum of six.

Daugherty, 33, made headlines when he skipped out on the last day of his trial in Ripley County back in late September. Although he was not there, the jury convicted him on a charge of Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine.

Daugherty was caught by police a few days later in western Ripley County.

Taul said Daugherty has a long criminal history and has been placed on probation several times before. He also owes $30,000 in child support, part of which will be paid by a $5,000 bond he paid to get out of jail prior to his trial.
