(Seymour, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation officials are hiring 114 on-call snow plow drivers and mechanics this winter to supplement its statewide army of 1,700 winter operations employees.

INDOT will be accepting applications through Nov. 3.

“Seasonal snow plow driver and mechanic positions provide an excellent opportunity to earn extra money while making Indiana’s highways safer,” said Troy Woodruff, INDOT chief operations officer. “Qualified professionals who drive or service construction equipment during the warmer months should consider these positions for winter work.”

Hours will vary each week based upon weather and need.

All applicants must pass a drug test, and drivers must have previously earned a Commercial Drivers License.
