Ed Newman allegedly sent inappropriate text messages or e-mails to a female student last month. He has been suspended with pay since the allegations came to light.
“There has been an exchange of some ‘questionable’ emails/text messages but nothing rises to the level of a crime so it’s unlikely any criminal charges will be filed,” Sgt. Noel Houze wrote in an e-mail regarding the investigation by Det. Vance Patton.
Newman may still face some form of discipline from the school administration regardless of criminal charges.
