(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A man suspected in a bank robbery in Dearborn County fled across the country hoping to avoid arrest.

Eventually the law caught up with Lonnie Ray Johnson.
Last June 3 the United Community Bank on U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg was held up and money was taken.
Johnson, 54, of Dayton, Ohio was identified as the suspect by Lawrenceburg Police partly because he was a regular at local riverboat casinos. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Tuesday, Johnson was taken into custody on that warrant in San Diego, California.
He’ll be extradited back to Dearborn County where he will face trial.
