State Road 56 at Thuermer
Hollow Road in Ohio County.
(Ohio County, Ind.) – A 68-year-old woman died in a three-car crash on State Road 56 in Ohio County Tuesday.
A black Ford Fusion driven by Jason Bond, 18, of Rising Sun, crossed the center line near Thuermer Hollow Road around 4:45 p.m. according to the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office.
An oncoming silver Chevrolet Cavalier was hit head-on, killing the driver, May Habel 68, of Villa Hills, Ky. She died at the scene of the crash.
Bonita Broderick, 60, was a passenger in Habel’s car. She was taken by Aircare to University Hospital with serious injuries and is currently in stable condition.
Bond suffered some minor injuries including a broken arm. A male juvenile in his Ford was unharmed.
The driver of a third car involved, Kristina Keeton, 22, was treated for minor injuries at Dearborn County Hospital and released.
The crash is still under investigation by the sheriff’s department. Deputies did not say if drugs or alcohol could be considered factors. It’s unclear if any charges could be filed.
More information could be released once the investigation is complete.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) – A fatal wreck occurred in Ohio County Tuesday evening.
The accident occurred just after 6:00 on State Road 56. An exact location of the wreck was unknown.
It is unknown how many vehicles were involved, how many people were hurt, their names, or conditions.
No information has been released by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office as of Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.
