(Cedar Grove, Ind.) - A 13-year-old boy died Saturday in a tragic farming accident in Franklin County.
Around 2:00 p.m., firefighters and EMS were called to a farm on Kerr Road outside the village of Cedar Grove according to a witness at the scene.
Kyle Kerr had climbed into the back of a loaded grain truck and was somehow pulled under.
It took several minutes to free the teen.
Aircare was called out but attempts to revive Kerr failed. He died at the scene.
The accident is being investigated by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. Repeated attempts by Eagle 99.3 to learn more information from the sheriff's office were unsuccessful.
A candlelight vigil was being held for Kyle at Mt. Carmel School, where he was an eighth grade honor student, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
The visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 26 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home in Brookville. Funeral services will take place the following Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Brookville.
