(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - It’s so dry in Eagle Country that we’re seeing a designation by the National Weather Service we don’t see very often.
A Red Flag Warning has been issued from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday for the entire Eagle 99.3 listening area.
That means with gusting winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation have combined to create a serious risk of wildfires.
Fires started in this environment could quickly spread and become uncontrollable according to the weather service.
Local officials are reminding residents that there is a burn ban in every southeastern Indiana county.
Overnight Thursday into Friday a Frost Warning will be in effect from 2:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. as temperatures fall into the mid-30’s.
