(Manchester, Ind.) - Safety is the idea behind new flashing sings that will be installed near a Dearborn County school.

The Indiana Department of Transportation has approved the signs along State Road 48 approaching Manchester Elementary School.

Known as an area where motorists frequently speed past the elementary, the Dearborn County Department of Transportation and Engineering requested the new flashing speed limit signs.

INDOT says the new signage will be installed as soon as they have the flashers and a crew is available to do the work.
