(Oldenburg, Ind.) - An accident in an Oldenburg driveway led to a one-year-old boy being aircared to the hospital.

On Sunday evening, a woman was watching her two grandchildren playing in the driveway.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies say that's when a two-year-old climbed inside a 1999 Mercedes Benz and somehow knocked it out of park.

The car rolled forward into the younger boy, causing serious head and bodily injuries. The family dog was also hurt.

The boy was taken by medical helicopter to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

After the deputies’ initial investigation it appears there may have possibly been a mechanical malfunction of the vehicle which caused the accident.

No criminal charges are pending right now.
