(Aurora, Ind.) - A former police chief is expected to be back in a Dearborn County courtroom Tuesday.
Dana Cotton was with the Aurora Police Department when he was indicted last December for felony charges of Theft, Official Misconduct, and Conflict of Interest. He also faces a misdemeanor count of Conversion.
Cotton was dismissed as a patrolman with the department the same day.
A guilty plea hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. in Dearborn Superior Court II.
Cotton had allegedly stolen tires off a city-owned vehicle during his tenure as chief. He may have also financially benefitted from checks he wrote using City of Aurora funds.
