(Dillsboro, Ind.) - If you see dozens of fire trucks and ambulances in the Dillsboro area on Saturday, don’t panic.
Various departments will be participating in a mock disaster response at the Dillsboro Fire Department beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Firefighters, EMTs, police and others will be on the scene of the training exercise - a fake school bus crash with 50 Boy Scouts from Lawrenceburg and Dillsboro acting as the victims.
Firefighters will practice extrication while EMTs fine tune their triage skills, says Dillsboro EMS training officer Clint Ellis.
Departments participating include Dillsboro Fire, EMS, and Police; Aurora Fire and EMS; Greendale EMS; Milan Fire and EMS; Hogan Township Fire; Friendship Fire; Oldenburg Fire; Tri-County EMS; Jennings County EMS, Dearborn County Emergency Management Agency, Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office; Indiana State Police; and Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
