(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Monday is the deadline to register to vote if you’re a Hoosier planning to cast a ballot in the Nov. 2 general election.

Voter registration must be completed by the end of the day at your local county clerk’s office or the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Mailed registration forms must be postmarked Monday.

An online voter registration application form can be completed by 11:59 p.m. at www.indianavoters.com, where voters can also check on their voter registration status.

“The IndianaVoters.com website was created to serve as a one stop shop for Hoosier voters,” Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita said. “To date, more than 13,000 individuals have submitted a new online voter registration or updated their information through the website. I encourage all Hoosiers who still need to register to vote or update their registration before the General Election to complete the application online or download the form through the Web portal.”

Absentee voting also begins in most Indiana counties Monday. Dearborn County has early voting at the Lawrenceburg Public Library. Ripley County will have theirs at the county clerk’s office in the courthouse in Versailles.

The Indiana Secretary of State’s office say 4.2 million Indiana residents are registered to vote.
