(Dillsboro, Ind.) – A Moores Hill man was doing 100 MPH at the wrong place at the wrong time.
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, Sept. 22, Phillip L. Lunsford was allegedly drunk driving when he was speeding in excess of 100 MPH on U.S. 50 near Lake Dilldear Road Dillsboro in his black 1995 Ford Mustang. That’s when he nearly wrecked into a Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputy from behind.
Lunsford pulled over after a short pursuit. According to a court affidavit, he told the deputy he was sorry and knew he had messed up. Lunsford then admitted to speeding as fast as 112 MPH.
The suspect failed a breath test with a BAC of .08, right at the Indiana legal limit, at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center about 50 minutes following the traffic stop.
Lunsford is now charged with OWI and Criminal Recklessness. He has since bonded out of jail.
