(Undated) - You can now register to vote when on the go in Indiana.
The Indiana Secretary of State’s office has launched a new mobile tool that allows Hoosiers to register using their internet-enabled cell phone.
"Advancing our online voter registration tool with mobile capability continues further down our path to innovate and modernize our election process," Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita said. "With the objectives of increased accessibility, ease of use and accuracy, the new mobile voter registration option demonstrates Indiana's continued focus on harnessing technology to serve voters and taxpayers."
Just go to www.in.gov/sos in your phone’s web browser. Information on exisiting voter registrations can also be updated and checked against Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles records.
Oct. 4 is the voter registration deadline for the Nov. 2 general election in Indiana.
You can check your registration status online at www.indianavoters.com. Hoosiers can also see which candidates and issues will appear on their ballot.
Indiana is one of just eight states where online voter registration is permitted.
