(Laurel, Ind.) - Two people are in jail after a meth bust in Franklin County.
On Tuesday afternoon, sheriff’s deputies received a call from a concerned citizen about a suspicious van on Laurel Road near the town of Laurel.
When officers arrived they found the van in a wooded area. As they approached, a male suspect attempted to run away but was quickly apprehended.
Further investigation by the deputies led to the discovery of meth making supplies and a lab inside the van.
The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team was called out to safely clean and dismantle the lab.
Meanwhile, deputies arrested Kenneth Lainhart, 43, of Connersville, and Bonnie Scarrett, 41, of Metamora. They are each charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, a Class B felony. Lainhart also had several outstanding warrants.
