(Undated) – More than 46,000 Indiana high school students who graduated in 2010 proved to be a little brighter than the class before them.
The average SAT score for the state's public, private and home school students was 1476, up from 1441 in 2009 according to new test results released by the College Board, the organization which administers the SAT nationwide.
Indiana trailed behind the national average of 1509.
A total of 2400 points are possible in the test focusing on critical reading, math, and reading.
Indiana’s mean critical reading score in 2010 was 494, math 505, and 477 in writing.
The Hoosier state was 16th in students taking the test with a 64 percent participation rate.
