(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A court date has been set for a Sunman woman accused in a deadly hit-and-run last week.
Christy Shackelford-Grammer bonded out of the Dearborn County Jail on Friday just hours after her arrest for felony Failure to Stop After an Accident Resulting in Death. Her bond had been set at $10,000 cash or $100,000 surety.
She will be back in Dearborn Superior Court I on Nov. 17 for a pre-trial hearing.
The 32-year-old mother of three was driving on North Dearborn Road Tuesday, Sept. 7 when she allegedly hit three-year-old Jack Carpenter, killing him.
Shackelford-Grammer told investigators she was distracted and thought she had hit a deer. She did not stop at the scene and said that she didn’t realize it may have been a little boy she hit until reading news reports that evening.
