Andrew Conley is escorted outside the

Ohio County Courthouse after entering a

guilty plea for the murder of his little

brother, Conner, in November 2009.

The 18-year-old from Rising Sun was set to go to trial this week for the murder of his 10-year-old brother, Conner Conley, last November. Jury selection was to begin Monday morning.

Conley’s defense was hoping to portray him as not guilty by reason of insanity, but all psycholigical evaluations leading up to the trial have show he is not. That led to the guilty plea just as jury selection was to get underway.

Conley, who was 17 at the time of the murder, still faces a maximum sentence of life without parole.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday in Ohio County Circuit Court.
