Dearborn County People for Animal Welfare Society, or PAWS for short, is holding its 4th Annual Big Splash at the pool on Tate Street from noon to 5:00 p.m.

Before the pool is drained, the City of Lawrenceburg opens up the pool to the group each year once the weather begins to turn and the pool has been closed to the public.

“To see a Saint Bernard go up on the slide and come down in the pool is pretty awesome,” said Robbin Pelfrey, vice president of Dearborn County PAWS.

For just $5 your dog can swim all day. Each additional dog is $2 with proceeds going towards PAWS mission of saving stray and abused animals in Dearborn County.

Proof of rabies vaccination must be presented before a dog can take a dip.

People can also make a contribution of $5 to buy a swim for dogs from the Dearborn County Animal Shelter, who will be available for adoption during the event.
