(Milan, Ind.) - Milan Community Schools are considering a district policy which would bar almost everybody from having guns in their vehicles on school property.
Policy 8105 had its first reading by the school board in August.
The rule would bar students, parents, and visitors from having a firearm or ammunition in their vehicle when parked at a school.
Only emergency personnel such as police officers would be exempt from the policy.
The proposal will be read again at the board’s Sept. 20 meeting before it receives final approval.
