An open house will be held at the building from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. The City of Aurora regained possession of the building on U.S. 50 following a legal fight with the Greater Cincinnati YMCA, who shut down and tried to sell the building in 2008.
The two sides reached an out-of-court settlement in June with the city paying $100,000 to buy back the building, which had been lent to the YMCA largely thanks to community investments and grants.
Citizens will be asked for their ideas for the high school building’s future use as a community center.
Mayor Donnie Hastings, Jr. will make comments around 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Residents who cannot attend the open house but would still like to make suggestions can e-mail info@aurora.in.us.
