The City of Lawrenceburg is seeking businesses with detailed plans for the hotel and convention center.
The Request for Proposal is posted on the city’s website. The listing requests that a “private firm or team must demonstrate the ability to bring a nationally recognized hotel franchise and be connected to a prominent sales office network and sales force positioned to pursue quality convention and group meeting opportunities.”
RFPs are due in to City Hall by Tuesday, Sept. 14. An advisory council will review the proposals then submit a recommendation to Lawrenceburg City Council.
The entertainment complex would be located in the current vacant lot at the intersection of High and Walnut streets next to the Ohio River levee. It would anchor the city’s growing downtown business district.
Lawrenceburg is hoping to have construction completed in 2012.
Cost of the project would be between $50 million and $60 million with the city chipping in $25 million in the form of a grant, according to the RFP.
