Loni Turner (left) and Erin Ross were found dead in a Florida motel room after an app- arent murder-suicide. |
A candlelight vigil was held for Loni “Amber” Turner in Vevay Monday evening.
The 22-year-old 2007 Switzerland County High School graduate was living and going to school in Florida.
Coworkers notified law enforcement when Turner failed to show up for work Sunday.
On Monday, her car was found outside a motel in Port Orange, Florida. The bodies of Turner and her ex-boyfriend, 27-year-old Erin Ross, were discovered inside a room.
Along with a gun inside the room, police indicated there had been a scuffle.
Autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday.
Various reports say Turner went to South Daytona police just a couple weeks earlier to report that Ross was stalking her.
She had been seeking an injunction against Ross, however, a judge denied Turner’s request Aug. 23 for lack of evidence that Ross was a danger. A court hearing was scheduled for this Friday.
