The school is hosting its annual open house from 6:30 to 8:00.
“We’re inviting the community to come in and check out our beautiful facilities, meet our teachers, and find out the great things that are going on here,” said South Dearborn High School principal Rob Moorhead.
Teachers will be on-hand to talk about what’s going on in their departments and classrooms. Cake and punch will be served in the cafeteria as students in the music department provide live performances in the auditorium.
In past years the open house had been held in October, but school officials decided to move it to the second week of classes in hopes that students’ parents would become involved and interested earlier.
“I talk to people all the time who graduated from here and I’ll ask them when the last time they came up to the school has been. If they haven’t been here the last three years they haven’t seen the tremendous renovations that have taken place inside this building,” said Moorhead.
