(Ripley County, Ind.) - A two-day long police patrol on Interstate 74 in Ripley County ended with 16 arrests and thousands of dollars in drugs off the street.

The special patrol Thursday and Friday by the troopers from the Versailles District used K9 officers to sniff stopped vehicles for drugs.
The results were 40 criminal charges, 19 of them being felonies, mostly for drugs.
In one stop, police searched and seized more than one pound of high quality marijuana with an estimated value of $2,500 to $3,000.
Another stop yielded the discovery of 250 ecstasy pills, cocaine, marijuana, LSD, numerous prescription pills, and paraphernalia.
Batesville Police and the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office assisted by transporting the suspects arrested to the Ripley County Jail in Versailles as the state troopers continued with the I-74 patrol.
