(Decatur County, Ind.) – Indiana State Police at the Versailles Post say a group of motorcycle riders trying to pass a semi ended with one of the bikers being hit and killed by an oncoming truck.
Thursday at about 7:22 p.m. three bikers were southbound on U.S. 421 in Decatur County when they attempted to pass a semi tanker.
The first two bikers in line made the pass, but the third was hit by a northbound semi tractor hauling a load of steel.
Troopers say Brandon M. Shupe, 27, lost control of his bike during the pass and was hit, killing him instantly.
U.S. 421 was closed until 12:30 Friday morning.
The fatal accident remains under investigation.
