(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A candle-lit walk to raise awareness about substance abuse will take place Tuesday, October 8 in Lawrenceburg.
The Twilight Vigil, organized by Race for Recover and Hands & Feet Ministry, in conjunction with the Dearborn County Prosecutors office, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Newtown Park in Lawrenceburg and end at the levee. Candles and lanterns will be provided by event organizers.
State Rep. Jud McMillin will appear at the event as the keynote speaker.
The walk is an attempt to raise awareness about the ever-present drug problems facing our communities. When the walk reaches its final destination at the Ohio River levee, a prayer vigil and lantern lighting ceremony will take place.
Individuals who are in recovery from substance abuse and individuals who died from substance abuse will be honored during the ceremony.
