(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A fire damaged a Lawrenceburg apartment building unit on Sunday, September 29.
The Lawrenceburg Fire Department was called to a report of a structure fire at 325 Short Street at about 12:23 p.m. Firefighters arrived on scene to find moderate smoke conditions at the main entry door, said Lawrenceburg Fire Chief Johnny Tremain.
As additional firefighters from Lawrenceburg and Greendale arrived on scene, the Engine 4 firefighters first to the fire stretched an attack line. The advanced to the apartment where the fire had began and extinguished the flames.
The residents of the apartment where they fire began remain out of a home. The other residents of the building were displaced for only about two hours.
Damage was estimated at $10,000.
Also assisting at the scene were Lawrenceburg Emergency Rescue Unit, Lawrenceburg Police Department, and Lawrenceburg Municipal Utilities.
