(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - July was a down month for the three casinos in southeast Indiana.
New monthly revenue reports from the Indiana Gaming Commission shows that Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg generated just over $39.4 million in revenue last month, down from $44.5 million in July 2009 just after the new boat opened.
Although the lure of a new, larger riverboat is waning Hollywood still welcomed 362,000 visitors in July. However, that’s off from 452,000 people who visited during the same month last year.
Grand Victoria Casino and Resort in Rising Sun raked in $9.2 million – a 7.5 percent decline. Attendance numbers mirrored the revenue loss as 5.7 percent less people stepped on-board, or 129,000 total visitors.
Belterra Casino in Switzerland County had $13.1 million last month. The boat welcomed about 162,000 visitors, a 5.2 percent decline from the same month a year ago.
Statewide, Indiana’s 13 casinos combined for $253.2 million in revenue in July. There were a total of 2.5 million casino visitors.
