(Burlington, Ky.) - A series of car break-ins are under investigation in Boone County.
Deputies say that back on July 5, vehicles were broken into at Linnemann Funeral Home and the YMCA in Burlington. The thief, or thieves, took purses and other valuables. The thefts occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home on Burlington Pike and between 12:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. at the YMCA on Veterans Way.
Some of the credit cards taken in the break-ins were later used at a number of stores including J.D.’s Food Mart in Burlington, Kroger’s in Burlington, and Home Depot in Florence.
Surveillance cameras spotted a person fraudulently using one of the stolen cards. The video stills obtained by investigators show a heavy-set white man in his late 40’s or early 50’s approximately 5’10”-6’ tall with short hair wearing a red baseball cap, black athletic shorts, white gym shoes and an off color yellow American Eagle tee shirt. He could possibly be driving a small white car with tinted windows.
