(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Construction on the Lawrenceburg Event Center and Hotel is moving right ahead with the frame of the nine-story hotel almost fully in place.
Wall framing for the ninth floor suites and roof decking on the east half of the building is nearly complete, said Bruce Tumlin with Messer Construction in an e-mail update on the project.
Framing and mechanical rough-in is continuing throughout the event center and hotel. The windows on the north side of the center are being installed, as well. Concrete work on the roof will be completed next week.
A temporary elevator for workers to use is now in place. It will remain in operation until December.
The $49 million, 220,000 square foot Lawrenceburg Hotel and Event Center is expected to open in the first quarter of 2014. Though the property is currently owned by the City of Lawrenceburg, but upon completion it will be owned and operated by Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg hosting conventions, concerts, and events.
