(Versailles, Ind.) - Police in Ripley County are seeking more information regarding a shooting on a back country road last month.

On the evening of July 24, a confrontation on Hopewell Road north of Versailles led to the alleged incident.

According to court documents, a vehicle driven by Amber Thompson, 20, of Holton, was overtaken by another vehicle occupied by Douglas White, 19, of Sunman, and Gabriel “Eddie” Seitz, 20, of Dillsboro.

Once both vehicles had stopped, an argument began.  Seitz soon rattled off shots towards Thompson’s vehicle.

Thomas Livingston, 27, of Holton – a passenger in Thompson’s car – was shot in the arm. He would later be treated and released from the hospital.

Thompson and a small child in her car were unharmed.

Seitz was arrested on a probation violation in Dearborn County July 25 and remains held there.

The Ripley County Prosecutor’s Office filed charges related to the shooting July 29.

Seitz is charged with Carrying a Handgun without a License (C felony), Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (C felony), and two counts of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon (D felonies).

White is charged with Assisting a Criminal (D felony) and Obstructing Traffic (A misdemeanor).

You are asked to call the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office at (812) 689-5558 if you have information on the shooting.
