(Hebron, Ky.) - Logistics powerhouse DHL is hosting a plane pull competition to benefit Special Olympics Kentucky on Saturday, October 19 at CVG.
Teams will compete against the clock to see who can pull a massive 70 ton Boeing 757 12 ft. in the fastest time. Each team that competes will raise $1,000 dollars or $50 per person to benefit Special Olympics Kentucky.
Private parties and businesses are both eligible to form teams, and everyone is a winner.
“This is an opportunity for all of us in the local community to show that we’re pulling for the athletes of Special Olympics Kentucky,” said Travis Cobb, VP America’s Hubs, Gateways and Network Control at DHL Express, CVG Hub. “We expect a lot of good-natured competition this year and invite all organizations and businesses to take part with a pull team of their own. It’s not every day that you get to test your team’s strength against a 70-ton aircraft while helping a fantastic organization that does great work each and every day. It will be a fun event that makes a difference.”
The competition will be held at the DHL hub at CVG. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with the completion following shortly after.
