(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Since last Wednesday, Hoosiers have filed roughly 220,000 unemployment vouchers totaling around $54 million in benefits.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development said that's in line with expectations and payments on the eligible vouchers filed over the weekend will be completed today.
But there are warnings coming to be very careful for those entering the Extended Benefits program. Those are for people who have exhausted the state and federal benefits which last for about a year.
Just one mistake on the emergency benefits program will kick an unemployed worker out of the system.
To handle the influx of people seeking jobless benefits, Indiana WorkOne Centers, including the location on Walnut Street in Lawrenceburg, will remain open extended hours 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, each day through this Friday, Aug. 6.
