(Cleves, Oh.) - A tax increase has been approved by voters in the Village of Cleves.
A special election was held in various communities throughout Ohio on Tuesday. Cleves voters approved a 3.9 mil operating levy, 54.9 percent to 45.1 percent.
The levy will generate more than $201,000 a year for the Cleves general fund for five years. The money will keep city services funded.
The levy will cost property owners $117 per year for every $100,000 in assessed value.
According to the Hamilton County Board of Elections, only 459 ballots were cast in Cleves Tuesday. That’s a 23.2 percent turnout of the 1,976 voters which were registered.
