A motorcyclist was killed after a vehicle reportedly pulled out in front of the biker at about 7:15 a.m. Monday in Verona.
Boone County Sheriff’s deputies say the motorcycle driver, identified as a 22-year-old man from Erlanger, was riding his Suzuki motorcycle westbound on U.S. 42 approaching South Fork Road. A 1997 Ford Taurus driven by Terry Gibson, 56, of Verona, was stopped on South Fork Road preparing to turn left onto eastbound U.S. 42.
Gibson had started forward, but stopped when he saw the motorcycle approaching. The biker braked hard, but was unable to avoid the collision, deputies said.
Gibson was not injured.
Police said the biker was wearing a helmet.
U.S. 42 was closed for almost three hours following the crash.
The crash is under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit.

(Verona, Ky.) – A person died in a motorcycle crash Monday morning in southern Boone County.
WXIX-TV reports that the accident happened just before 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. 42 and South Fork Road in Verona.
The motorcycle collided with another vehicle. One person is reported to have died. It is unclear if anybody else was injured.
