(Dillsboro, Ind.) – A deer is blamed for causing an accident which ended with the vehicle in a creek in southern Dearborn County Thursday.
Brandon J. Roberts, of Dillsboro, was driving on Huesman Road near State Road 262 at around 6:37 a.m. when he struck a deer in the roadway, according to the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department. Roberts’ vehicle then swerved off the road and overturned into a creek.
Roberts suffered a shoulder injury. He was transported to Dearborn County Hospital by his wife in another vehicle.
It is unclear if the deer survived the accident.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department, which was assisted at the scene by Dillsboro Fire, Ohio County EMS, and the Ohio County Sheriff's Department.
