Aurora Police Locate Missing Man

Louisville, Ky. was returned to his family thanks

to Aurora Police last week.

(Aurora, Ind.) - Aurora Police helped get a missing Louisville senior citizen back safely to his family last week.

 

According a news release from Aurora Police sent Monday morning July 26, Louisville resident Lafayette McDonald, 77, was last seen at about 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 20.

 

McDonald’s family said he suffered from Alzheimers and needed medication.

 

At just before midnight Wednesday, July 21, Aurora officers Joshua Daugherty and Lorraine Oguz were called to the Shell gas station on U.S. 50-Green Boulevard regarding a citizen assist. They then found a man disoriented and confused.

 

The officers used the man’s drivers license to identify him as McDonald. Run of his name revealed that a Golden Alert, a region-wide emergency missing person notification, had been issued.

 

The elderly man told the officers he was not sure where he was or how he got there.

 

McDonald was picked up in Aurora by his family early Thursday morning.
