(Indianapolis, Ind.) - A Colerain Township man is in an Indiana jail, awaiting extradition to Cincinnati to face charges in the murder of a pizza shop owner.
Indianapolis police say John Deloney, 27, turned himself in there at about 8:30 Wednesday night. The arrest came one day after Deloney was named as the suspect in Richard Evans’ slaying.
Evans, a father of three, was gunned down Saturday, June 15 during a robbery at Cosmic Pizza in Hartwell.
WLWT-TV reported that Cincinnati Police investigators used facial recognition software with surveillance video from the restaurant to identify Deloney as the suspect.
Deloney will remain held by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department until an extradition hearing on Thursday.
Court records show that Deloney had gotten out of the Dearborn County jail on bond just seven days before the alleged murder. He was arrested in May on charges of Fraud, Forgery, and Conspiracy to Commit Forgery after allegedly stealing a credit card from a patron at Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg.
