(Indianapolis, Ind.) – This summer, a local lawmaker will be working to bring military jobs to Indiana.
State Senator Johnny Nugent (R-Lawrenceburg) has been appointed to the Military Base Planning Council by Senate President Pro Tem David Long (D-Fort Wayne). The council is one of a number of the legislature’s interim study committees which meet in the fall and summer to discuss specific issues.
Nugent will have a role in the council’s duties of finding ways to support, maintain, and expand military bases in Indiana.
“Crane Naval Base, Camp Atterbury, Grissom Air Reserve Base and other military posts around the state contribute to Indiana’s economy and most importantly provide jobs to Hoosiers,” Nugent said.
