(Undated) - Pretty soon, you may not need to carry a copy of your insurance card in your car in Indiana.
Starting July 1, the state will begin allowing drivers to show police their proof of insurance in electronic form, the Associated Press reports. That would include digital images of your insurance policy, such as through your insurance company’s smartphone app.
Indiana will become 1 of 24 states accepting electronic proof of insurance.
The law, Senate Enrolled Act 620, was passed earlier this year by the Indiana legislature.
