(Cleves, Oh.) – Voters in the Village of Cleves will go to the polls in a rare August election.
Residents will get to vote on a 3.9 mil operating levy on Tuesday, August 6, WXIX-TV reports. The proposed levy would cost homeowners $117.60 per year for every $100,000 in home value.
If it is approved, the levy will generate more than $201,000 for the Cleves general fund for five years. The additional revenue will be used to pay for police, fire, EMS, road safety, snow removal, and other basic services.
The Village’s last operating levy attempt failed at the ballot box in November 2012.
