(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Local gas prices may be coming down, at least a little bit.
Stations in Harrison and Cleves began posting regular unleaded at $3.79 Tuesday. Some stations along U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg, Greendale, and Aurora are down from almost $4 to around $3.85 now. Yet, many stations in Ripley County remain in excess of $4 a gallon.
According to GasBuddy.com, the greater Cincinnati area’s average price this morning is $3.91, down about six cents from a week ago.
Indiana’s statewide average is $4.09, still among the nine highest in the nation, but down from $4.18 last week.
According to the Associated Press, analysts say prices could come down further in the next few weeks as a major oil refinery in Joliet, Illinois is back online. Another refinery in Whiting, Indiana is expected to ramp up production soon.
