(Indianapolis, Ind.) - The Indiana BMV is warning Hoosiers about a phone scam claiming to lower your auto insurance.
BMV Commissioner R. Scott Waddell says a number of motorists have received a phone call soliciting car insurance. The caller claims to be with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
“At no time will the BMV ever contact our customers about insurance rates. Please be advised that if you receive this kind of call that it is not from the Indiana BMV,” Waddell said.
The offending calls were coming from the number 765-733-1023.
