Press release from Indiana Department of Transportation
(Aurora, Ind.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will close State Road 56 Wednesday morning as the Paul H. Rohe Company, INDOT’s prime contractor for pavement replacement through Aurora, mobilizes equipment and work crews to begin Phase I construction.
An official detour routes traffic around the S.R. 56 project limits (Judiciary Street to U.S. Highway 50) via U.S. 50 and S.R. 129. Local access will be maintained to businesses and residences.
Phase I construction is located at the west end of Aurora near Lesko Park. It includes reconstruction of the existing roadway.
INDOT officials anticipate Phase I construction—from Judiciary and Fifth Street—to continue six to eight weeks.
Phase II is from Judiciary to George Street. Phase III is from George Street to U.S. 50.
The contract completion date is November 15.
