A zip line extends across the lake at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky. The zip line course will open later this month.
(Petersburg, Ky.) - There are already animatronic dinosaurs, biblical displays, and a theater at the Creation Museum. Soon, that list will include zip lines.
The museum off Interstate 275 in Petersburg says it will soon introduce the largest zip line course in the Midwest. The course featuring 20 zip lines and 10 sky bridges will open to the public in mid-June.
One of the most unique rides will be a pair of racing lines extending across a lake just outside the museum. Combined, the lines will span about 12,000 feet.
Answers in Genesis’ Creation Museum has attracted more than 1.8 million visitors since it opened in 2007. Attendance has declined each year since the opening, however, to just over 254,000 visitors last year. Museum officials hope the new zip line attraction brings more people to hear the museum’s message of a literal interpretation of the Bible.
The museum will offer incentive for zip liners to also step into the museum. A trip through the zip line course will cost $89, but for $99 admission to the museum will be included. Museum admission is typically $30.
